Overdraft Protection Options

Your financial success is important to us! In an effort to remain transparent and assist all members with managing their accounts, we will post fees on the day they occur. You will see any fees that have been charged on your statement and the fees will be reflected in your current and available balance.

We all have those times where life gets so hectic that we forget to do things – deposit a check, make a transfer, or deduct debit transactions from account balances – but don’t worry, we have you covered! With Overdraft Protection, you have the peace of mind knowing your checking account is covered when the unexpected happens. There are two options:

Overdraft Transfer

Set up Overdraft Transfer from one or more deposit account(s) you have at Pinellas Federal Credit Union. In the event of an overdraft, available funds will be automatically transferred to your checking account. A transfer fee applies. Please see our current Fee Schedule.

Overdraft Privilege

Overdraft Privilege program allows you to overdraw your account up to the disclosed limit for a fee in order to pay a transaction. See current Fee Schedule.

You may have both Overdraft Protection and Overdraft Privilege as additional coverage if your other Overdraft Protection sources are exhausted. We can only pay overdrafts for ATM or everyday debit card transactions if you give us consent to extend Overdraft Privilege to pay these overdrafts.

Overdraft Privilege is not a line of credit. However, if you inadvertently overdraw your account, we have the discretion to pay the overdraft, subject to your Overdraft Privilege selection.

You can discontinue Overdraft Privilege in its entirety at any time by calling Member Services at 727.586.4422, emailing member@pinellasfcu.org or visiting any branch.

*Overdraft Privilege is not a line of credit. Only accounts that are in good standing and have been open for at least 60 days are eligible. Accounts will be charged the standard Overdraft fee of $32.00 for handling each overdraft created by check, ACH, Point-of-Sale, ATM withdrawal, in-person withdrawal or other electronic item that is paid and $32.00 for items returned. An overdrawn balance must be repaid within 32 days. We may not pay items under your Overdraft Privilege if you do not maintain your account in good standing by bringing your account to a positive balance within thirty-two (32) days for a minimum of 24 hours, if you default on any loan or other obligation to Pinellas Federal Credit Union, or if your account is subject to any legal or administrative order or levy. Pinellas FCU reserves the right to revoke Overdraft Privilege at any time. There is a fee for this service. Please see our current Fee Schedule.
